La SAS présente : EDITORS en concert à LYON.

Editors are back. When a fan discovered a new track ‘No Harm’ hidden on the current Play It Again Samcompilation and shared it with the world, the first fruit of the band’s recording sessions in the remote Western highlands of Scotland was available to hear. Tracks are now being finalised for a new Editors album in the autumn of 2015, the first to be produced by the band, with Alan Moulder on mixing duties. ‘No Harm’ is available to download via the band’s official website http://www.editorsofficial.com/, for free, now.

Editors’ last album, ‘The Weight Of Your Love’ (2013) was the high watermark for the band in a ten year career that has seen plenty of highlights. Racking up Top Ten placings across Europe, (including number ones in Holland and Belgium and a fourth consecutive Top Ten in the UK), the album propelled the band to headline shows at Werchter and Lowlands in Benelux and high profile slots at Glastonbury and Reading, amongst a list of dates that spanned four continents and over one hundred venues and festivals, including their first ever shows in Africa.

‘The Weight Of Your Love’ followed Editors’ two consecutive UK Number One UK Albums, ‘An End Has A Start’ (2007) and ‘In This Light And On This Evening’ (2009). Their debut album, ‘The Back Room’ (2005) has now sold over half a million copies in the UK alone whilst the band have combined album sales of over 2 million across the world.

+ The Twilight Sad

La première partie sera assurée par The Twilight Sad.

The Twilight Sad are: James Graham (vocals) – Andy MacFarlane (guitar) – Mark Devine (drums) From their powerful debut Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters, to the discordant and unsettling follow-up Forget The Night Ahead, the militant krautrock of No One Can Ever Know and their stunning live collaboration with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, The Twilight Sad have never been a band to sit still. But where each of the albums prior to their most recent full-length, 2014’s Nobody Wants To Be Here And Nobody Wants To Leave, saw the trio tackling new sounds and ways of writing, their latest work draws from their entire career – and as the critical acclaim rolls in, it’s clear this has proven to be an incredibly successful venture for the band. While they’ve always been a band to keep critical ears tuned in, NWTBHANWTL has seen the band reach new heights of acclaim, earning rave reviews from publications including The Sunday Times, The Quietus and Q; alongside topping Drowned in Sound’s best albums of 2014 and earning a rare perfect ten from the site, finishing second in The Skinny’s list, third in Popmatters’ indie rock albums of the year and topping Any Decent Music’s Scottish albums of the year, alongside being covered by the legendary Robert Smith of The Cure. It all equated to the album reaching a remarkable #55 in the UK albums chart, another high point in the band’s history and a testament to how honed their sound has become. Reflecting on the holistic approach of the record, guitarist Andy MacFarlane says: “Over the 8 years we’ve been touring, our live sound has taken on different forms, from full on noise/feedback, to a sparse, synth led sound, to a stripped back set up with just keys, drum machine and guitar, to playing with an orchestra, and to just an acoustic with vocal. We wanted to try and capture all of those elements and develop them in some way to make the new record.” “I think it’s a testament to the music we’ve written and the people who support our band that we’ve got this far,” frontman James Graham says. “Everyone always says their new album is their best, I’m not going to say that. I love all of our albums as they document that time in our lives be it good or bad. All I’ll say is that I am extremely proud of the record and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”
